MEET THE OWNER

Hi, I’m Kyle Phillips.I was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee, and this city has always been home for me. Growing up, I spent a lot of time around food, family, and community, and I’ve always had a genuine love for being in the kitchen.

Football became a huge part of my life. I went on to attend the University of Tennessee, where I played football, and later had the opportunity to continue my career professionally with the New York Jets and New Orleans Saints. I eventually finished my playing career with the DC Defenders in the UFL.

Being an athlete taught me a lot about discipline, performance, recovery, and how important it is to take care of your body. Over the years, especially after dealing with multiple injuries, I became even more intentional about nutrition and the foods I was putting into my body. Cooking became more than something I enjoyed. It became a way for me to take care of myself, heal, slow down, and stay connected to the present moment.

That’s really where PhillYaCup began.

The name is a play on my last name, Phillips, my love for tea, and the idea of “filling your cup.” I’ve always connected with the reminder that you can’t pour from an empty cup. For me, PhillYaCup became a reminder to make time for the things that nourish you physically, mentally, and creatively.

Sometimes filling your cup is cooking a meal from scratch. Sometimes it’s sitting down with a cup of tea, spending time with people you love, moving your body, getting outside, or simply giving yourself permission to slow down.

Now that I’ve stepped away from professional football, I’m excited to share this part of myself more intentionally. Through food, private dinners, catering, and everything else I create through PhillYaCup, I hope to give people experiences that feel thoughtful, comforting, nourishing, and memorable.

I’m glad you’re here, and I hope PhillYaCup inspires you to make a little more room for the things that fill yours.

So, how did you PhillYaCup today?— Kyle
